Kid's Nature and Rock Climbing Camp ~ Los Gatos
Kid's love climbing, over 3 days kids from ages 8-14 learn to climb on real rock at Castle Rock State Park near Los Gatos. Beyond rock climbing our activities include nature exploration walks and introducing our students to the unique natural history of Castle Rock State Park.
Sierra Friends Camp ~ Nevada City
Affordable nonprofit camp offers rich outdoor experience in beautiful Sierra Nevadas. Swimming, hiking, games, music, campfires, and lasting friendships make Sierra Friends Camp a special place where kids 9-14 can be themselves away from school cliques and pressures. 1 & 2 week sessions in July, shuttle service from the Bay Area.
Woolman Teen Leadership Camp ~ Nevada City
Experience outdoor adventure, service work, farms, mountains and rivers. Gain leadership skills and confidence, learn about the natural world, and make incredible lasting friendships. Woolman Teen Leadership Camp is an affordable nonprofit 2-week camp for 15 & 16 yr-olds in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills. Shuttle service from the Bay Area.
Roughing It Outdoor Explorers ~ Lafayette (transportation provided from San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, Contra Costa County)
1-week outdoor adventures for 1st-6th graders. Campers spend all week at the Lafayette Reservoir learning outdoor skills and exploring the natural world. Activities include fishing, boating, hiking, wilderness living skills, outdoor cooking, crafts, and sports. Group activities daily and 13 choice periods each week! Transportation provided and free extended care available.
Urban Adventure Camps ~ Oakland
Urban Adventure Camps is unique week-long day camp for children ages 8-15. Camp begins each morning at Rockridge Bart in Oakland where campers meet their group and begin their day’s adventure. Groups visit museums, parks, galleries, and various other urban attractions and citycenters. Public transportation is used to travel between locations, thereby developing the campers’ knowledge and confidence when travelling within a city. Each session focuses on one of the following subject areas: physical science, natural science, history and art.
Youth Science Institute ~ Los Gatos, San Jose
YSI's Summer Science Camps take advantage of our outdoor settings to get children out into nature to investigate and discover the world around them. Kids build, conduct experiments, play games, hike, use their creativity with natural and recycled materials, share stories, and closely examine the YSI animals. Campers work and play in small groups, learning cooperation and teamwork.

Specialty English and Western riding camps for riders of all levels, 3rd-10th grades. Comprehensive Certified Horsemanship Association programs with 2-3 riding lessons daily, trail course riding, horsemanship, cross country jumping, dressage, horse show, gymkhana events, horse crafts, and baby ranch animal care activities. Transportation provided and free extended care available.
Moss Beach Horse Camp ~ Moss Beach
The most fun you’ll have all summer! Weekly camps packed each day with riding lessons, games, vaulting, trails, and horsemanship along with an environmental component that helps kids understand the effects of horses and humans on the coastal eco-system. Small groups, big excitement for kids, 6 to 15, beginner through advanced.
Folger Stable Spring and Summer Horse Camps ~ Woodside
Bay Area Equestrian Connection (BAEC) holds week long Horse Camps for children ages 8-15. These are at the Historic Folger Stable in Wunderlich County Park in Woodside. BAEC professional staff and well trained horses ensure that your child learns to ride in a safe, educational and fun environment! The program includes, hands on horse care fundamentals, Riding Fundamentals, fun arts and crafts, and Horse riding every day either in the arena or on the beautiful park trails!
Spring Down Equestrian Center ~ Portola Valley
We offer one to two week long horsemanship camps in Spring, Winter, and Summer. Our complete program groups riders according to experience, but no experience is needed to participate. We teach riding, horsemanship and horse care under the care of our knowledgeable instructors and helpers in small, interactive groups. Ages 6-99, welcome!
